Photo publishing guide

One project. Three platforms. A post you have reviewed.

Use PromoSteps to prepare existing project photos for Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. Upload the photos once, edit the copy for each platform, then confirm the post after reviewing the previews.

Before you start

Choose photos you own or have permission to publish. For a design project, that might include a finished space, a wider view and a detail. Keep private client information out of the photos and copy.

PromoSteps is in private beta. After an approved invitation and workspace setup, connect the platforms you want to use in Accounts. Choose the Facebook Page and Pinterest board that should receive your posts.

1. Choose the photos and their order

Start a new post, select Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest, and upload your photos. Put the photo that best introduces the project first. Use the thumbnail rail to review the order and remove anything you do not want to share.

Instagram and Facebook use the ordered photo set. Pinterest uses one selected Pin image, so choose the photo that makes sense on its own. Follow any photo-count or file warnings shown beside the upload.

2. Review how each photo fits

Check the large photo preview before moving on. Show full keeps the complete photo visible; Crop to fill fills the selected frame and can remove details at the edges. Adjust the photo position when an important part of the project would otherwise be cropped.

Keep the Instagram carousel in one shared frame. Check wide shots and close-ups individually, and replace a low-resolution photo when you have a better original.

3. Edit the copy for each platform

Use AI captions as an editable starting point, or write the copy yourself. Include the facts you want the post to explain, such as the project goal or a design choice. Check every factual claim before publishing: a photo alone does not establish the location, materials, budget or client outcome.

Instagram
Review the caption and hashtags alongside the full carousel. PromoSteps publishes Instagram hashtags in a first comment.
Facebook
Review the photo set and write an introduction that gives your Page audience enough context to understand the project.
Pinterest
Choose a single Pin image, edit the title and description, and check the destination board. Add an optional link to the relevant project page on your website.

4. Preview, then confirm

Open Preview and switch through each selected platform. Review all the Instagram and Facebook photos, the selected Pinterest image, and the final copy. Correct any highlighted setup or content issue before confirming.

Publish now starts delivery after your confirmation. If you have enabled scheduling in Settings, you can instead choose an available future slot. Account connections and publishing access must be ready when you confirm.

5. Check each platform’s result

Publishing continues in the background. The post receipt shows the result for each platform and remains available after a refresh. A pending result means delivery is not yet confirmed; use Check status when offered, and wait for the result before preparing the same post again.

For a confirmed failure, follow the platform’s recovery action. Successful platforms stay protected from duplicate publishing. Once the post is finished, use Create new post to move on.

Common questions

Will PromoSteps publish without my approval?

You review the photos and copy before confirming a publish or schedule.

Do I need different uploads for each platform?

You can prepare these three platforms from one upload. Instagram and Facebook use the ordered image set, while Pinterest uses your selected single image. Review each platform’s preview and any media requirements shown in the app.

Can I prepare a Xiaohongshu post too?

Yes. PromoSteps can prepare the photos and note, but Xiaohongshu publishing is a manual handoff. You complete that post yourself using the prepared media and text.
